INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ILLICIT TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS

A Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following person Nikola Josipović, born in 1995 in the municipality of Bosanski Šamac, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ILLICIT TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS

The accused is charged with illegal production of cut tobacco on 22 September 2020, in his family household in the municipality of Bosanski Šamac, as well as with owning a machine and equipment for tobacco cutting and producing tobacco without paying excise duties and taxes envisaged by the Law on Excise Duties and the Law on Tobacco in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the search of the family house and auxiliary facilities, the authorized officials of the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior found and seized cut tobacco in the total amount of 132 kilograms.

The aforementioned accused person is charged with having committed the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, referred to in Article 210a, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with its partner institutions and agencies, is carrying out activities in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, aimed at detecting and prosecuting persons suspected of illicit trafficking in larger amounts of tobacco and excise products that causes damage to the budget and to all the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
