In the area of Velika Kladuša, a residential building was searched, in which more than twenty (20) illegal migrants were found, and two persons, suspected of human trafficking, were deprived of liberty.
Acting on the order of a Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in cooperation with the police of the Una-Sana Canton Ministry of the Interior, SIPA police officers deprived two suspects of liberty in the area of Velika Kladuša and found more than twenty (20) illegal migrants, including children and minors, during the search of the facilities there, who will be handed over to the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further action.
Persons deprived of liberty are suspected of providing accommodation and further illegal transport towards the Republic of Croatia and other countries of the European Union to members of the migrant population, upon their arrival in the area of the Una-Sana Canton.
Persons subject to investigation are suspected to have committed the criminal offense of Organizing a Group or Association for the Purpose of Perpetrating the Criminal Offense of Smuggling of Migrants, as well as the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons.
The Prosecutor in charge of this case was informed about the executed activities, and he gave instructions and directions to the police officers regarding further actions towards the suspects and undertaking additional investigative actions.
