INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ILLICIT TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS

A Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following person:

- DRAGOLJUB VULIĆ, born in 1973 in the municipality of Konjic, with prior convictions, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia.

The accused is charged with attempting to put on the market a larger quantity of excise goods, namely cigarettes which were not marked with tax and excise stamps prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the allegations in the Indictment, on 29 October last year, the accused transported the cigarettes in a passenger motor vehicle, and he was caught driving the aforementioned vehicle when he was controlled by authorized official persons of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who prevented him from carrying out his intentions.

During the search, a total of 8,210 packs of cigarettes of various types and brands were found and temporarily seized.

The aforementioned accused person is charged with having committed the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, referred to in Article 210a, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in conjunction with Article 26 of the same Code.

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
