The accused Ratko Tešić (1962) is charged with illicit trade in about 106 kilograms of tobacco without appropriate excise stamps of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has filed an indictment against:
Ratko Tešić, born in 1962 in Bosanski Šamac, a citizen of BiH.
It is alleged against the accused that, for the purpose of further sale on the illegal market of tobacco and excise products, he procured from persons known to him a larger quantity of about 106 kilograms of cut tobacco with the aim of placing it on the illegal market without paying any levies provided for by law.
In the commission of the criminal offence, the accused was discovered in the area of Lukavac during the control performed by authorised officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of BiH, after which the tobacco without any documentation on paid duties was seized.
According to the assessment of ITA authorised officers, the market value of the illegal tobacco with included levies is about BAM 16,000.
The accused is charged with having committed the criminal offence of Illicit Trade in Excise Products under Article 210a (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, together with partner institutions and agencies, carries out activities in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina to detect and prosecute persons suspected of illicit trade in tobacco and excise products in large amounts causing damage to both the budget and all citizens of BiH.
