The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Gordana Tadić, together with officials of the Special Department for War Crimes and associates, met with officials of the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) for the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) in The Hague.
Due to pandemic measures, the meeting between Sarajevo and The Hague was held via video conference.
The central topic of the meeting was a joint project that should be implemented in the coming period, which will include important elements of cooperation between the two Prosecutor’s Offices over the past period, as well as an analysis of the impact and results of the cooperation.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the IRMCT OTP in The Hague have good and continuing cooperation in the joint exchange of information and evidence in cases, in the process and activities of searching for missing persons, as well as cooperation in communication with representatives of victims and victims of war crimes.
Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić informed her IRMCT OTP colleagues that despite the restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH managed to carry out operational activities in war crimes cases, as well as activities in accordance with the Revised National War Crimes Strategy.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the IRMCT OTP will continue their cooperation in the coming period and the practice of holding regular meetings will continue in the future.
