ON ORDER OF BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE, OPERATION CODENAMED “TROCADERO” CARRIED OUT WITHIN FIGHT AGAINST UNAUTHORISED TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS

The duty prosecutor coordinated the activities of authorised officers of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior on seizing a large quantity of cigarettes the value of which is estimated at around half a million BAM.

As part of the operation codenamed “Trocadero”, the duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina coordinated activities carried out in the field by police officers of the RS Ministry of Interior in the area of Banja Luka, who seized about 160,000 cigarettes without excise labels.

In this case, the suspects, who are charged with illicit trade in excise products, will be interviewed.

The investigation in the case is continuing intensively.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, together with partner institutions and agencies, is working on a number of cases relating to the illicit trade in tobacco excise products in large quantities, which yields a large illegal property gain for perpetrators and causes damage to the budget and all citizens of BiH.
