INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR SMUGGLING OF ILLEGAL MIGRANTS

A Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following person:

-        JOVICA VIDOVIĆ, born in 1998 in Gradiška, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This accused person is charged with transporting migrants, who did not meet the conditions for a legal crossing of the state border of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from the territory of Bihać towards the state border of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to the Republic of Croatia, for an agreed amount of money and by avoiding the measures of the border control, on 11 October 2019, all for the purpose of acquiring unlawful material gain. 

The said accused was detected and deprived of liberty in the area of the International Border Crossing of Gradiška, when he was transporting the smuggled persons, citizens of Pakistan, in the trunk of a vehicle rented from a car rental agency.

The aforementioned accused person is charged with having committed the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons, referred to in Article 189, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
