The accused Niu Sujun (1965) is charged with smuggling goods the import of which is limited, which require special authorisations and which were imported into the territory of BiH without the approval of the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has filed an indictment against:
- Niu Sujun, born in 1965 in the People’s Republic of China, residing in the Brčko District of BiH, responsible person in the legal entity - the company “Agora” d.o.o. Brčko District of BiH.
The accused is charged that in May 2019 she, on a freight lorry, carried across the BiH customs line at the border crossing point Izačić and imported into Bosnia and Herzegovina a large quantity of prescription glasses for vision correction the estimated value of which is about BAM 14,000.
The import of these goods is limited only to legal entities registered for sale of medical devices. As medical aids, they require special authorisations and the accused did not have an authorisation of the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the said goods.
The charges against the accused allege that she, without proper authorisation, by evading customs control measures, carried across the customs line the goods the import of which requires a special authorisation or permission of the competent authority, whereby she committed the criminal offence of Smuggling under Article 214 (2) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH.
