Having questioned the suspect, the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of the case put forward a proposal with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, seeking prohibiting measures to be ordered in regard to the suspect Haris Demirović, born in 1998 in Bihać, a citizen of both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, who is employed as a police officer with the Una-Sana Canton Ministry of the Interior.
Prohibiting measures, inter alia, include prohibition from traveling outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, prohibition from meeting with witnesses and suspects, prohibition from leaving the suspect’s place of residence – the territory of the Una-Sana Canton, as well as prohibition from performing certain business activities or official duties.
These prohibiting measures will ensure the unimpeded conduct and completion of the investigation that is being conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with its partner agencies and institutions.
The aforementioned police officer of the Una-Sana Canton Ministry of the Interior is charged with the commission of the criminal offence of Organized Crime, referred to in Article 250 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in conjunction with the criminal offence of Smuggling of Persons, referred to in Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as with the criminal offence of Abuse of Office or Official Authority, referred to in Article 383 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all in conjunction with Articles 53 and 54 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
