The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH wants the suspect for the purposes of conducting a court proceeding based on a confirmed indictment in the case codenamed “Lutka” /Puppet/ and for the purposes of an investigation, which the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior are conducting together with partner institutions, into crimes perpetrated in the area of East Sarajevo and BiH in the period from 2017 to 2019.
A prosecutor of the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH sent a request to the judicial institutions of the Republic of Serbia for the extradition of Darko Elez to the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The suspect is wanted for trial on the basis of a confirmed indictment, charging him with organised crime in connection with several serious crimes, including murder, attempted murder, money laundering and other crimes committed between 2005 and 2009.
Also, the suspect is wanted for an investigation conducted for a longer period of time by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, together with partner institutions in BiH and the region, and refers to serious crimes committed in East Sarajevo and BiH in 2018 and 2019, including two murders committed in a way mafia liquidations are committed, planning and attempting murders in the area of East Sarajevo and Bijelina, as well as extortion, intimidation and other criminal offences to the detriment of injured persons from the area of East Sarajevo and BiH.
The Prosecutor’s Office and partner institutions have learned that the organiser and coordinator of the committed crimes, together with other persons, is the suspect Darko Elez.
