Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić has called for additional efforts and engagement of Prosecutors and staff of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime, Corruption and Terrorism and the General Department III, with the aim of achieving the best possible results, despite the limitations, restrictions and difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Central topics pertained to the plan and achievement of work results until the end of 2020, as well as the continuation of the activities aimed at maintaining work processes and overcoming problems caused by the pandemic.
The Chief Prosecutor has emphasized that it is necessary to continue with the intensive work in all the sections within these prosecutorial Departments, and it has also been noted that these Departments are working on the implementation of priorities defined in the recommendations of the European Commission and in the European integration process, relating to the fight against high-level corruption, human trafficking, as well as the work on the cases of electoral fraud and violations of the electoral process.
Prosecutors of these Departments also participate in a number of international operations with partner institutions from the countries in the region, from the EU and the world, and are active in joint investigation teams, which bring together representatives of several institutions and agencies, and the work processes have not been suspended due to the consequences of the pandemic, but have been adapted to the new conditions.
Also, Prosecutors from these two respective Departments are working on a larger number of cases, so that, at the end of the year, the results of the work of these Departments and of the entire Prosecutor’s Office could be rounded out.
