The exhumation process has been completed at the Jabučko Sedlo site in the Novo Goražde municipality, and the mortal remains of at least three human skeletons have been found.
The exhumation and the work of all persons involved in the exhumation process was coordinated by a Legal Officer, under the supervision of the Prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of the case, and pursuant to an order issued by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the exhumation process, bone fragments were found. The mortal remains have been transported to Goražde, where they will be identified by way of the DNA analysis and the identity of the victims whose remains were found will thus be determined.
The exhumation process has been carried out with the participation of the officers of the BiH Missing Persons’ Institute, representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), a forensic doctor, necessary workers who have used adequate machinery, as well as police officers of the RS Ministry of the Interior.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with all institutions involved in the process of searching for and identifying missing persons, continues intensive activities in the search for missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
