The accused are charged with smuggling 11 illegal migrants from the territory of Iraq.
A prosecutor of the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption has filed an indictment against:
- Ćazim Agić, born in 1982 in Vlasenica, citizen of BiH
- None Sejdić, born in 1995 in Sarajevo, citizen of BiH
The accused are charged that in the course of 2019 they smuggled and transported a total of 11 illegal migrants, citizens of Iraq, to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to acquire illegal property gain.
The indictment alleges that in the area of Bileća they took over the illegal migrants, who were illegally smuggled to Bosnia and Herzegovina from the direction of Montenegro and who did not meet the conditions for their legal entry and stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an intention to transport them across the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina by a rented vehicle, for their further departure to EU countries.
In the commission of the criminal offence, the accused were discovered and prevented by police officers of the BiH Border Police, in the vicinity of Bileća.
The accused are charged with transporting smuggled persons in order to acquire illegal property gain, thus enabling them to stay in BiH, whereby they committed the criminal offence of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
