Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following person:
- Osman Hasković, born in 1972 in Bijelo Polje, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This accused person is charged with selling about 121 kilograms of cut tobacco without excise stamps and 170 boxes of cigarettes, during the month of April this year, as he was found doing so at the point of sale he was using at the market in the settlement of Stup.
The aforementioned tobacco products, without excises paid and with no accompanying documentation, were discovered during the control carried out by authorized officials of the Group for the Prevention of Smuggling and Misdemeanors of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The amount of excise duties for one (1) kilogram of cut tobacco is BAM 121.70, and illegal trade in large quantities of tobacco causes damage to the budget and all the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereas perpetrators of criminal acts gain large amounts of unlawful material gain.
The Indictment alleges that the accused illegally traded in excise products for which excise duties were not paid, and in that way he damaged the budget and all the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused is charged with the criminal offence of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, referred to in Article 210a, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
