The Head of the Section for Terrorism within the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following person:
- SENAD KASUPOVIĆ, born in 1980 in Grabovac, in Velika Kladuša Municipality, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who is currently remanded in custody.
The accused is charged to have left Bosnia and Herzegovina and gone to Turkey on 12 July 2013, wherefrom he illegally crossed the border and went to the territory of Syria and joined the structures of the so-called ISIL, which was declared a terrorist organization by the UN Security Council.
The accused stayed at the aforementioned territory for six (6) years, until 19 December 2019, and, using the name of Muatesim, he participated in terrorist activities together with other persons from Bosnia and Herzegovina who resided in Syria for the same purpose, he assisted and fought on the side of the so-called ISIL forces in Syria, in the Beit Commandos unit, which was later renamed to Al-Aqsa.
The accused is charged with becoming a member of a terrorist group and providing assistance to a terrorist group, thereby committing the criminal offense of Organizing a Terrorist Group under Article 202d, paragraph 2 as read with paragraph 1, all in conjunction with Article 201 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Together with the Indictment, a Motion to Extend Custody has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
