The meeting focused on strengthening the rule of law and the role of the judiciary in the European integration process.
The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Gordana Tadić, and her associates met with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Ambassador Johann Sattler and his associates.
This is Mr. Sattler’s first visit to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina after taking office on 1 September this year.
The Chief Prosecutor informed the EU Special Representative about the work and activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of strengthening the rule of law, as well as future activities planned in the work and functioning of this institution.
The Chief Prosecutor, once again, expressed her gratitude to the European Union for its assistance and support to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, which is reflected in the support in building and equipping the institution’s capacities, assistance in expert and professional training, as well as other forms of support to the rule of law in BiH.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has participated, during the course of this and last year, in several activities and joint operations with colleagues and partner institutions from EU countries in the fight against various forms of organized international crime.
It was further emphasized at the meeting that strengthening the rule of law and security of citizens is one of the key elements in establishing European values in BiH and a very important segment in the process of European integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
