A meeting of the Task Force for Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings and Illegal Migrations was held at the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it was chaired by the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Gordana Tadić. Officials from the state-level law enforcement agencies and judicial institutions, as well as those from both entities and the Brčko District of BiH, participate in the work of this Task Force group.
Participants at the meeting discussed the activities of these institutions, and it was concluded that all Task Force members and their respective institutions should resume the activities within their purview to prevent the constant increase in the number of criminal offences related to illegal migrations from reflecting negatively on the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Chief Prosecutor Tadić informed the participants of the meeting about the increase in the number of the reported criminal offenses related to illegal migrations. Also, new modes of perpetration of the criminal offences was discussed, as well as the difficulties in proving and prosecuting such cases in all prosecutor’s offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Members of the Task Force group talked about the activities that have been realized to date and their outcomes, as well as about the plans for activities in the period to follow, in terms of fight against the criminal offences related to human trafficking and illegal migrations. Moreover, there were discussions about the cooperation with task forces from the countries in the region, in view of the fact that such criminal offences can only be prevented by joint action.
