Complete mortal remains of one person have been found.
In the area of Rakita graveyard in Vlasenica, exhumation process has been completed, in the course of which complete mortal remains of one person were found at the location outside the graves.
An Investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina was present at the exhumation site, leading the exhumation process under the supervision of the Prosecutor in charge of the case. The exhumation was conducted with participation of officers from the BiH Institute for Missing Persons (MPI) and a doctor of forensic medicine, as well as police officers from the Vlasenica Police Station who were securing the exhumation site.
The found mortal remains will be transported to the Commemorative Center in Tuzla, for further anthropological processing and sampling aimed at identification of the person via the DNA analysis.
Almost on a daily basis, investigators and legal staff of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina participate in exhumation processes and in searches for missing persons at locations throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
