Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following person:
- MEHMET TINK, born in 1956 in the city of Kilis, in the Republic of Turkey, a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, who is currently reminded in custody.
The Indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina alleges that, in May 2019, in order to acquire personal material gain and in agreement with a third person on the territory of the Republic of Turkey, Mehmet Tink organized and arranged the reception of three citizens of the Republic of Turkey who did not meet the requirements for a legal entry and stay in Germany, where they intended to go, nor in other countries of the European Union.
The accused had the task to place the citizens of the Republic Turkey in Sarajevo upon their arrival to Bosnia and Herzegovina and to enable their further illegal transfer across the BiH state border to Germany or to the EU countries, all for a monetary compensation, in which action he was detected by authorized officials of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina and he was prevented from doing it.
The aforementioned accused is charged with undertaking activities which created conditions for a direct perpetration of the criminal offence prescribed by the law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is punishable by a sentence of imprisonment for the term of three years or by a more severe punishment, whereby he committed the criminal offence of Preparation of Criminal Offences, as referred to in Article 248 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
