The analysis of the current situation in the fight against terrorism, as well as the prosecution of returnees from foreign battlefields, were the central topics of the meeting.
Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić chaired the Task Force meeting attended by representatives of prosecutorial, police and security institutions from the levels of BiH, both Entities and the Brčko District of BiH. The meeting was also attended by officials from tax institutions and from the Office of the EU Special Representative to BiH.
Activities carried out by law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism and risks of terrorist activities were presented at the meeting. Representatives from the BiH institutions also spoke about necessary measures to be undertaken in the coming period, which relate to the prosecution of returnees from foreign battlefields whose arrival in BiH is expected in the coming months.
There was also discussion about potential risks of terrorism that might be related to the influx of illegal migrants to BiH.
The Task Force for Fight against Terrorism and Strengthening of Capacities for Fight against Terrorism, headed by the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, meets periodically to allow officials of all law enforcement agencies to have an opportunity to analyse the situation in this area and plan and coordinate joint activities aimed at reducing the risks of terrorism and strengthening the rule of law and security in BiH.
