Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina Gordana Tadić and her associates have met with the representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina headed by Ms. Samira Krehić, Deputy Chief of the Western Balkans Program.
Central topics of the meeting pertained to the activities following the process of the revision of mortal remains in ossuaries and mortuaries throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, or the review and identification of the mortal remains that have been found, but have not yet been identified.
At this meeting, there were discussions about further activities related to the reassociation of the found mortal remains with the already identified mortal remains and the handover of mortal remains to victims’ families and burial of mortal remains.
Once the revision process is completed, a new Instruction will be issued which will allow competent prosecutor’s offices to start with the implementation of the ICMP recommendations so as to reduce the number of the discovered but yet unidentified mortal remains which are being kept at several locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
