An indictment was filed against Goran Mojović (1969) for Crimes against Humanity in violation of Article 172 of the BiH Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 183 (1) - Destruction of Cultural, Historical and Religious Monuments.
A prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes filed an indictment against:
- Goran Mojović, born in 1969 in Foča.
The Accused is charged that on 2 August 1992 he acted in contravention of the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflicts by planting explosive and causing the explosion that completely destroyed the cultural-historical and religious monument Aladža Mosque, which was intended for the religious, educational and cultural goals and needs of Bosniaks.
The accused planted and activated the explosive together with another soldier who was killed in 1993.
Aladža Mosque is a cultural, historical and religious monument built in 1550-1551, and from 1950 it was a monument under the protection of the state.
The accused is charged with committing the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity in violation of Article 172 (h) (Persecution) in conjunction with Article 183 (1) (Destruction of Cultural, Historical and Religious Monuments) of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will prove the allegations from the indictment by calling 36 witnesses, 2 expert witnesses, including experts in the field of architecture, history and cultural heritage, with the submission of more than 200 pieces of material evidence.
The Indictment was sent to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
