MORTAL REMAINS OF VICTIM FROM PAST WAR EXHUMED IN MUNICIPALITY OF PALE

Under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, an exhumation was carried out at the site of a local Muslim graveyard in the municipality of Pale and the mortal remains of one person were found.

The mortal remains were transported to the pathological department of the JKP (Public Utility Company) “Gradska groblja” (Town Graveyards) Visoko for the purpose of undergoing forensic and criminal-technical processing, as well as for the purpose of taking samples for a DNA analysis.

An investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH coordinated the process of searching for and exhumation of the mortal remains in the field, which also involved officers from the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, a forensic physician, required number of workers with adequate mechanisation, as well as SIPA and PS Pale police officers.

The employees of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH take part in the search for remains and exhumations of victims of war crimes across BiH almost on a daily basis.
