Prosecutor Barašin spent eleven years working in the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the positions of a Prosecutor, Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Head of the Special Department for War Crimes, Acting Chief Prosecutor, and Chief Prosecutor, and his colleagues will primarily remember him as a good person and a great professional.
It is with deep sadness that the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has received the news on the passing of Milorad Barašin, Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who died in a hospital in Mostar, at the age of 58.
Although we knew that we was fighting a serious disease, all along we believed and hoped that he would recover and return among us, until last night when we received the sad news of his passing.
Prosecutor Barašin will primarily be remembered by our staff as a good person and excellent professional, always willing to help, especially to our young colleagues.
He was committed to his scientific work and the development of judicial practice, especially in the field of the prosecution of war crimes cases and the cases of serious violations of international humanitarian law.
Prosecutor Barašin was also a prominent sports activist and a passionate fan of sport, especially football.
The staff of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Acting Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić extend most sincere condolences to Prosecutor Barašin family.
On the occasion of the passing of Prosecutor Barašin, a Collegium of Prosecutors and employees the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held this morning.
The time and place of the funeral will be announced at a later date.
