IN THE JOINT BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE AND SIPA ACTION AROUND 665 KILOGRAMS OF

In a coordinated action conducted under the supervision of a Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, SIPA police officers, in cooperation with the BiH Border Police and the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Ministry of the Interior, detected and seized a smuggled shipment of around 665 kilograms of "Skunk" marijuana narcotic drug.

The seizure was carried out in the area of ​​Neum, after which a search was conducted and one person, a citizen of the Republic of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, was deprived of liberty.

The smuggling was discovered during the inspection of a tank with license plates from Dubrovnik, which was transporting narcotic drugs from the Republic of Montenegro to the Republic of Croatia; the drug was intended for the Western drug market.

The thus seized amount of the “skunk” marijuana narcotic drug represents the largest quantity of drugs seized in the last few years and it reaches the value of one million in the illegal drug market.

After examining the suspect, the Prosecutor in charge of this case will make a decision whether to file a motion for custody or for prohibiting measures in accordance with the law.

This action demonstrates the determination of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and police agencies in our country to oppose international organized criminal groups which smuggle large quantities of narcotics.
