Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Ramiz Mustafić, born in 1954 in Novo Selo - municipality of Zvornik, a BiH citizen.
The accused is charged with having attempted, on 19 March, to illegally put into circulation a larger quantity of tobacco, which was not marked by control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of BiH.
According to the indictment, after having previously bought the tobacco at the Arizona market from a person known to him, the accused loaded 44 kg of cut tobacco packed in PVC bags into a motor vehicle but was stopped by officers of the RS Ministry of Interior in Prijedor, who have issued a receipt on seizure and seized the tobacco that was destined for the black market in BiH.
According to the current legislation and regulations the evaded amount of excise taxes and taxes on the stated amount of tobacco is about BAM 4,400.00 because the sale of each kilogram of tobacco on the black market equals close to BAM 85,00 of evaded excise tax and about BAM 17,00 of evaded VAT thus causing damages to the state, the budget and all citizens of BiH.
The accused Mustafić is charged with having committed the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Excise Products under Article 210a of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with Article 26 of the same Code.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
