The procedure for extradition of the suspect to the judicial system of BiH has been initiated.
Pursuant to a warrant issued by the BiH Judiciary at the request of the Prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes, one Slobodan Knežević - born on 21 October 1968 in Prijedor was deprived of liberty in the territory of Montenegro.
At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina ordered custody for this suspect and an Interpol wanted notice for this suspect was arranged.
Montenegrin judicial authorities have ordered extradition custody and have initiated the procedure for extradition of the suspect.
Slobodan Kneževic is under investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and is suspected of having participated in the unlawful deprivation of liberty of about 120 Bosniak civilians in Miška Glava locality in Prijedor municipality in July 1992, who were subsequently captured and then shot and killed at the site of Kipe, Ljubija.
Slobodan Knežević is also suspected of killing a civilian in front of a Center in Miška Glava himself, by firing from a firearm.
Due to the aforementioned war crime the Court of BiH and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH are conducting proceedings in the case against Slobodan Taranjac et.al.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is, together with partner agencies from BiH, countries in the region and around the world, undertaking activities on locating, arresting and extraditing suspected war criminals located abroad into Bosnia and Herzegovina.
