Representatives of the local community, administrative bodies, non-governmental sector, citizens and the media heard about the current work and results, as well as the possibilities for citizens to communicate with judicial institutions.
BiH level judicial institutions met with representatives of the local community from Zenica and its surroundings in Zenica.
Representatives of the local community heard about the work of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Court of BiH - two institutions that will mark 15 years of operation in 2018.
The results of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH were presented at the conference. It has indicted more than 5000 persons for criminal offenses that are under the jurisdiction of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office including war crimes, organized crime, corruption, financial crime, terrorism and other criminal offenses within the jurisdiction of the state prosecution, the prosecution of which is essential for the rule of law and the security of citizens.
Representative of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Boris Grubešić - Head of the Public Relations Department, presented to the citizens the history and internal organization of the institution since its inception in 2003 and informed the participants about the work and activities of prosecutorial departments in the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
Representatives of the local community, including representatives of administration, judiciary, civil associations, NGOs and the media, had an opportunity to pose questions to representatives of judicial institutions about everything they were interested in about their work.
Meetings with representatives of judicial institutions in local communities are organized by the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in RS from Bijeljina, with the support of the US Embassy in BiH, in order to enable citizens to better communicate with the judicial institutions.
Meetings have been held in local communities in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
