ACTION IN CASE PERTAINING TO ABUSE OF OFFICE ONGOING UPON ORDER OF BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE

Police officers from the Police Department of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are carrying out activities in relation to former officials from the Ministry of the Interior of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and persons associated with them.

Since early morning, police officers of the Police Department of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been carrying out searches and arrests of suspects, upon the order of a Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, and as part of a case conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.  

These activities are related to four (4) suspects and one (1) legal person- a company, including some former officials of the Ministry of the Interior of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The aforementioned suspects are under investigation as they are suspected to have committed the criminal offences of Abuse of Office or Official Authority, or to have abused their positions by their actions during the public procurement procedure, and thus enabled the acquisition of unlawful property gain in the amount of around one (1) million BAM.

Following the arrests, the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of this case will question the suspects, in coordination with police officers, and thereafter make a decision in respect of further activities in this case.
