At the site of Ilovice, in Trnovo Municipality, an exhumation is being conducted and coordinated by an Investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who is present at the exhumation site, upon the order of a Prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes.
The exhumation has commenced and incomplete mortal remains of at least three persons have been found, and the search for mortal remains will continue in the days to follow.
The found mortal remains will be transported to the dissecting room of the Public Utility Company of ’City Cemeteries’ in Visoko, where forensic processing will be performed and bone samples will be taken, so that the victims’ identities could be determined by way of the DNA analysis.
The exhumation and the work of authorised officials are being coordinated by an Investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons and an expert forensic pathologist are present at the exhumation site, along with the necessary workers and adequate mechanization, whereas the location is being secured by the police officers of the Ministry of the Interior of Sarajevo Canton.
Almost on a daily basis, employees of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina participate in finding mortal remains and exhuming victims of war crimes throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
