The meeting was chaired by the Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Gordana Tadić and the central topics of the meeting were related to expediting the pace of war crimes prosecution and communication between judicial institutions involved in case work.
The meeting of the top officials of state and entity judicial institutions was held in the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH. The parties discussed work on war crimes cases and amendments to the National War Crimes Strategy.
The meeting was attended by the Acting Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office - Gordana Tadić, Deputy Head of the Special Department for War Crimes - Izet Odobašić, Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes - Milanko Kajganić, representatives of the Permanent Judicial Council for War Crimes Cases of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina: judges Minka Kreho and Željka Marenić, Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of the FBiH - Zdravko Knežević and Prosecutor Munib Halilović, as well as Prosecutor Branko Mitrović from the RS Prosecutor’s Office.
Practical issues in the area of war crimes prosecution, daily cooperation and communication of institutions were discussed at the meeting with the aim to expedite the work on war crimes cases as well to undertake the necessary activities to amend the National War Crimes Strategy.
The communication between the state and entity institutions when referring cases to the jurisdiction of the Entity Prosecutor’s Offices was also discussed as well as all other practical issues that are essential for more efficient work on war crimes cases in order to provide support to the Working Group tasked with drafting amendments to the National War Crimes Strategy.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the OSCE Mission to BiH.
