Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Gordana Tadić, and officials of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Ozrenka Nešković and Deputy Head of the Special Department for War Crimes Izet Odobašić, met with Mr. Tobias Freeman from the Siracusa International Institute.
At this meeting, the activities that this International Institute, which is actively engaged in the criminal law and protection of human rights, is undertaking to fight against illicit trade were discussed.
The aforementioned Institute is conducting a project related to the fight against illicit trade and smuggling in South Eastern Europe, and the Institute wishes to establish contacts with the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, since the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is an institution which, among other criminal offences falling within its jurisdiction, also prosecutes perpetrators of the criminal offences pertaining to illicit trade and smuggling of goods and persons.
The representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina informed Mr. Freeman about the work and activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina conducted so far, and the issue of possible cooperation in the activities and projects implemented by the Siracusa International Institute was also discussed at this meeting.
