EXHUMATION COMMENCED AT THE LOCATION OF KORIĆANSKE STIJENE

Today, an exhumation process commenced in the wider region of Korićanske Stijene, on Mount Vlašić, upon the orders of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, respectfully, in search for the mortal remains of the victims killed at Korićanske Stijene, on 21 August 1992.

An Investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is present in the field, coordinating the exhumation process and the search for the mortal remains, in coordination with the Prosecutor in charge of the respective case.  

This exhumation is being conducted in an extremely inaccessible and complex terrain.

The exhumation is being conducted with the participation of the officers of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, an expert forensic pathologist, police officers of the authorized police station, as well as the necessary workers.    

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with its partner institutions, participates in the processes of exhumation and search for the missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
