INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR SMUGGLING OF GOODS

Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Mitar Stević, born in 1981 in Gornji Lukavac - Gradačac, BiH citizen.

The accused is charged with having, on 14 December 2016 on the site of Ušće - Baščina border strip of Bijeljina Municipality, smuggled textile goods, clothing of various international brands and perfumes of famous brands of greater value from the Republic of Serbia on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the indictment, the accused has smuggled the said goods in agreement with a person from the Republic of Serbia, so that the mentioned person brought the said goods in a boat across the Sava River from the territory of Serbia, where the accused took over the goods and reloaded it into his vehicle after which he headed further into BiH.

The accused was then stopped and controlled on a local road by officers of the BiH Border Police and the said goods were seized following a search of the vehicle.

Subsequent evaluation of goods, performed by the Indirect Taxation Authority, established that the goods are worth BAM 13.940,40 .

The accused Stević is charged with the criminal offense of Smuggling of Goods in violation of Article 214 (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
