Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following person:
- MIRO MARTINOVIĆ, born in 1962 in Gornji Mamići, in the Municipality of Široki Brijeg, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.
The accused is charged with putting into illegal circulation, in the period from March to July of 2015, or selling products which were not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation.
According to the allegations in the Indictment, the accused procured a larger quantity of tobacco, which he kept in the house he used. He is charged with cutting the tobacco and packing it in the shape suitable for consumption, all in order to sell it as a final product on the black market.
According to the applicable legislation and regulations, with the sale of every kilogram of tobacco on the black market, the excise and tax evasion in the amount of approximately BAM 100 is perpetrated, thus causing the damage to the state Bosnia and Herzegovina, its budget and to all the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On the premises of the house used by this accused, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) found 210 kilograms of dry tobacco in leaf, 208 kilograms of cut tobacco and 191.5 kilograms of dry tobacco in bales.
The accused Martinović is charged with the commission of the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, as referred to in Article 210a of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
