A Prosecutor of Department III within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Nebojša Jelač - born in 1975 in Bosanska Krupa, BiH citizen.
The accused is charged with having attempted to transfer goods (i.e. 2,238 pieces of various garments of world famous brands) from the Republic of Serbia into BiH across the customs line on 12 April 2016 at the Rača border crossing, in a truck and trailer, while avoiding customs controls as goods worth BAM 36,355.30 were not presented to authorized officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH (ITA BiH).
The goods in question were seized by authorized officials along with a certificate on temporary seizure of items and goods.
The accused is charged with having evaded customs control while transferring goods of significant value across the customs line, and by doing so committed the criminal offense of Smuggling of Goods under Article 214 (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in conjunction with Article 29 of the same Code.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
