PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH ISSUED AN INDICTMENT AGAINST BRANKA ŠEKARIĆ, ACCUSED OF DISCLOSURE OF IDENTITY OF A PROTECTED WITNESS IN WAR CRIMES CASE.

A Prosecutor of Department III within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Branka Šekarić, born in 1976 in Sarajevo, citizen of BiH and Republic of Serbia.

The accused is charged with having made public, during the course of the proceedings conducted before the Court of BiH against her husband Dragan Šekarić who was subsequently convicted of war crimes committed in the Višegrad area, via social network, on two occasions, the identity of a protected witness in a war crimes case, and by doing so revealed information without authorization about her identity which was declared secret by decision of the Court of BiH.

Dragan Šekarić was sentenced to imprisonment of 17 years for war crimes committed in Višegrad in 1992.

The accused is charged with having committed the criminal offense of Disclosure of Identity of a Protected Witness in violation of Article 240 3) in conjunction with (1) of the CC BiH.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
