Prosecutor of the Department III of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against:
- Danijel Čalo, born in 1989 in Mostar, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the allegations in the Indictment, Čale is charged with transporting a larger quantity of dry cut tobacco on 03 September 2016, about half a ton if it, which was not labelled with excise stamps as prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and which he intended to put into circulation.
On the above-mentioned day, at around 23:00 hours in Mrkonjić Grad, the accused was transporting 510 kilograms of dry cut tobacco in the passenger’s motor vehicle, which was packed in black nylon bags.
During the inspection of the said motor vehicle, authorized officers seized the aforementioned tobacco.
The excise and tax duties for the aforementioned quantity of tobacco amount to tens of thousands BAM, which is the amount of the damage done to the budget of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to all the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused Čale is charged with the commission of the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, as referred to in Article 210a, paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 26 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
