A Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against the following person:
- Nikola Savić, born on 5 March 1969 in Višegrad, where he resides, with prior convictions, BiH citizen.
The accused is charged with having acted contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War during the month of May 1992 and the armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the municipality of Višegrad, while acting in his capacity as member of the Armed Forces of the Army of the Serb Republic.
The accused is charged with violating the rules of international law during the armed conflict by first robbing and then forcing the victim, an ethnic Bosniak woman, to have sexual intercourse; by acting inhumanely causing great psychological pain and suffering to the victim and by doing so he committed the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 173 (1) e) and f) of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with Article 180 (1) of the same Code.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
