ACTING CHIEF PROSECUTOR MET WITH OFFICIALS OF THE EU DELEGATION AND EU SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE TO BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Acting Chief Prosecutor, with her associates, met with officials of the European Union in BiH covering the process of justice reform and the rule of law.

The meeting focused on the activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in the prosecution of organized crime, terrorism, war crimes, corruption, illegal migration, smuggling and other crimes.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is involved in several international operations and is working with prosecutors and law enforcement Agencies in EU countries.  Complex international operations have been conducted in the fight against organized crime, human trafficking, smuggling of drugs and other illicit substances, which included participation of several countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Prosecutor’s Office has proven itself as a significant partner to law enforcement agencies in EU countries in the prosecution of crimes, where perpetrators, victims or evidence are found both in BiH and the EU.

The meeting participants have also agreed to continue cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the EU Delegation in BiH in the efforts to strengthen the rule of law in BiH
