CHIEF PROSECUTOR SALIHOVIĆ AND OFFICIALS OF THE BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE VISITED SIPA AND MET WITH THE DIRECTOR OF SIPA AND HIS CLOSEST ASSOCIATES

Mutual support and joint commitment to the fight against organized crime, war crimes, corruption and terrorism was highlighted at the meeting.

High level delegation of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH consisting of the Chief Prosecutor, Heads of Departments and Heads of Sections came to visit the newly-appointed Director of SIPA, Mr. Perica Stanić. An initial meeting was held at which  both institutions voiced their support for the joint mission - efficient prosecution of all crimes within the jurisdiction of the two institutions.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and SIPA cooperate operatively on daily basis as a result of which every month  hundreds of operational and investigative activities are undertaken in the fight against organized crime, war crimes, terrorism, corruption, money laundering, financial crimes and all other crimes within the jurisdiction of these institutions.

BiH Prosecutor’s Office and SIPA are leaders in the fight against serious crimes and are essential for the establishment of the rule of law and peaceful and secure living environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The two institutions have, in the past 12 years,  realized a lot of  activities and prosecuted hundreds of suspects, demonstrating that great efforts are being invested in the fight for the rule of law, that they are key stakeholders in the fight against serious forms of crime, and that BiH citizens have confidence in these institutions. Good and dynamic cooperation was also established with counterpart agencies in the region, Europe and around the world in the fight against cross-border crime.

It was agreed that operational meetings between the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and SIPA should be held in future in relation to the activities of individual Departments and Sections as well as that the institutions will make every effort to make sure that the results in the fight against all forms of crimes are even better in the next year.

The two institutions will continue to work intensively on creating a safer living environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina on our country’s path towards European integration.
