INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR WAR CRIMES COMMITTED IN THE AREA OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KONJIC

Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following person:

 
INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR WAR CRIMES COMMITTED IN THE AREA OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KONJIC

-      Radivoje Soldo aka Rašo, born on 11 August 1963 in Mostar, residing in Nevesinje, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The accused is charged with acting in contravention of the rules of the international humanitarian law and in violation of the provisions of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the armed conflict between the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Army of Republika Srpska, in the territory of the Municipality of Konjic, while he was a member of the Army of Republika Srpska. 

According to the allegations in the Indictment, the accused is charged with an unlawful imprisonment of one Bosniak woman, in a bungalow in the area of Boračko Jezero /Boračko Lake/ where the camp of the Army of Republika Srpska was stationed, from late June to late July of 1992; there, he raped he every day and subjected her to forced labour, deliberately inflicting great suffering upon her, as well as violating her bodily integrity and health.

The accused is charged with coercing the aforementioned person to various forms of forced labour, by way of forcing her to clean bungalows, launder military uniforms and clean military shoes, and she was also subjected to mistreatment, humiliation and rape by other unknown members of the Army of Republika Srpska, as well as by soldiers from Serbia.   The victim was forced under threat of her life to change her name and confession, which she had to do because she feared for her life, as she was threatened that that would be the only to avoid being killed, all of which resulted in the infliction of great suffering upon her and violation of her bodily integrity and mental health and left permanent consequences on the victim. The accused Radivoje Soldo is charged with the commission of the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians.   The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
