At the location of Bokčkin Potok near Bratunac, an exhumation was carried out upon the order of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The exhumation was supervised and coordinated by the assigned Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Incomplete mortal remains of several persons were found and the exact number of persons and identities of the victims whose mortal remains were found will be determined in a subsequent process.
These mortal remains will be transported to the Commemorative Center in Tuzla for further forensic processing and identification.
The exhumation process was conducted with the participation of officers of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Police Station in Zvornik.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with institutions involved in the process of tracing and identifying missing persons, continues its intensive activities in the process of finding missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
