A Prosecutor of Department I within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against: Kostjerevac Adem, born on September 11, 1961 in Snagovo a place located in Zvornik municipality, residing in the United States, a citizen of BiH.
The accused is charged with having acted contrary to the rules of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, during the war and armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the territory of Zvornik municipality, while acting as a member of the Military Police of the I Muslim Brigade Zvornik of the Army of the Republic of BiH.
He is charged with having, during the war in BiH and the armed conflict between the RBH Army and the RS Army, forced a civilian - a pregnant Serb female who was incarcerated in a facility in which he was an armed guard to sexual intercourse in the period from September to October 1992.
The aforementioned rape and abuse caused the loss of pregnancy with the victim.
The accused is charged with the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 142, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of SFRY.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
