DURING THE VISIT, CHIEF PROSECUTOR AWARDED THE OFFICERS OF THE DIRECTORATE FOR COORDINATION OF POLICE BODIES OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA WITH BADGES, IN RECOGNITION OF THEIR SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED TRAINING ON IMMEDIATE AND CLOSE PROTECTION OF SAFEGUARDED PERSONS
Mr. Goran Salihović, Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, visited the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the facilities of the Operational Headquarters of police agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Operational Headquarters was formed within the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, pursuant to the Agreement on assistance and operational cooperation of law enforcement agencies, in order to prevent security threats in our country, or to prevent abuses of citizens’ gatherings and destructive behavior of hooligan groups, as part of marking the anniversary of the 2014 protest.
The Chief Prosecutor had a tour around the facilities of the Operational Headquarters in which officers of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, State Investigation and Protection Agency –SIPA, Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Police Department of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of the Interior of the Sarajevo Canton, respectively, work together; he complimented the efforts of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its Director, Mr. Mirsad Vilić, and in particular the Directorate’s activities aimed at protecting the security of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and their property and improving the security situation in our country in general.
Among the visitors were also BiH Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Directors of police and law enforcement agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as officials of the international community.
The aim of the Operational Headquarters was to ensure coordination of actions and mutual assistance of the respective agencies in conducting operations within their jurisdiction, for the purpose of a more efficient protection of citizens’ security.
During the visit, the Chief Prosecutor attended a specialist police exercise in immediate protection of persons under escort, conducted by the officers of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, subsequent to which the Chief Prosecutor and other guests presented the course participants with the awards- badges, in recognition of their successful training.
