PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH WILL LODGE AN APPEAL AGAINST THE DECISION TO TERMINATE CUSTODY IN MESO AND GIBRALTAR CASES. THESE ACTIVITIES WERE CARRIED OUT PURSUANT TO ORDERS OF THE COURT OF BiH. THE BIH COURT WAS INFORMED AND IT ISSUED ORDERS TO CONDUCT SEA

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is dissatisfied with the decisions of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to release the suspects in the actions with the code names of Meso /Meat/and Gibraltar to conduct their defense.

We are surprised by the statements that the Court had not been informed about the evidence and conducted activities, and we would like to remind the public that both of these activities were conducted pursuant to the orders issued by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as that Court issued orders to conduct searches and carry out activities in the course of which the aforementioned suspects were arrested. (Only in the Gibraltar case, there were seventeen (17) written and three (3) verbal orders of the Court).

In the case of Lijanović et al., the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina had already ordered and extended custody, so the Court revoked its own decision yesterday.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina believes that there is sufficient evidence to prosecute suspects in both of these cases who are under investigation for multi-million crime, whereas irregularities and financial malversations in the Gibraltar case have also been identified by the countries of the European Union, namely Austria and Slovenia.

We believe that such developments hamper the fight against corruption and that they do not present a good picture to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina would like to send its message that there will still be no untouchable ones and that this will not hamper the fight against organized crime, corruption and terrorism, and once more we would like to stress that there are no, nor will there be any, staged processes at the Prosecutor’s Office.
