WAR CRIMES SUSPECTS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY UPON THE ORDER OF THE BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE

Upon the order of the Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes, SIPA police officers have deprived of liberty the following persons in the area of Livno:

WAR CRIMES SUSPECTS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY UPON THE ORDER OF THE BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE
  1. Zdenko Andabak, born on 21 November 1968 in Livno, where he also resides, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
  2. Zoran Vrdoljak, born on 10 January 1963 in Livno, where he also resides, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

These suspects are under an investigation of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and they are suspected of the commission of the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians, as referred to in Article 173 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They are suspected of acting, as members of the HVO and the Ministry of the Interior of the Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in violation of the provisions of the Geneva Conventions relative to the protection of civilian persons in time of war.

They are charged with the killing of two persons of Bosniak ethnicity in July of 1993, in the territory of Livno, as well as with inhumane treatment and physical abuse of one person.  

The suspects will be handed over to the Prosecutor in charge of the case in the course of this day, and the Prosecutor will subsequently question the suspects and decide on filing the motion for custody.
