INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ILLICIT TRAFFICKING IN ARMS AND MILITARY EQUIPMENT

A Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against the following person:

INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ILLICIT TRAFFICKING IN ARMS AND MILITARY EQUIPMENT

- Dalibor Purić, born on February 22, 1976 in Brčko, where he resides, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The accused is charged with having handed a package, which contained the optical sight "Zrak" type ON76B, to be delivered to a recipient in the United States on May 9, 2014 in the BiH post office in Brčko without any supporting documentation or approval required for export in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Control of Foreign Trade of Goods and Services of Strategic Importance for the Security of BiH, because the aforementioned product is included on the list of goods with special purposes.

The said optical sight was detected in a package-shipment during the control at the Cargo Warehouse of the International Airport in Sarajevo with the help of the X-ray machine following which the item was sized.

The accused Dalibor Purić is charged with having attempted to export goods of strategic importance i.e. a product that can be used for military purposes without a proper authorization - export permit from the competent authorities of BiH, thereby committing the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Arms, Military Equipment and Products of Dual Use under Article 193, Paragraph 2 in conjunction with Paragraph 5 of the CC BiH,

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
