The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has, in the past 10 days carried out 8 extensive operations arresting more than 75 suspects in its fight against organized crime, war crimes, smuggling and terrorism. The operations involved hundreds of police officers from several police agencies in BiH.
The past period was truly the most frequent in the history of the Prosecutor’s Office when it comes to the realization of field activities.
The operations were moving forward so fast as if they were on the conveyor belt. Persons with multiple criminal records pertaining to organized crime and war crimes suspects with a fairly high level of responsibility were arrested as well as politicians, thus confirming that no one is untouchable for the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
War crimes suspects of all ethnic groups living in Bosnia and Herzegovina were deprived of liberty in the past period.
Activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in its fight against tax evasion have certainly influenced the improvement of financial discipline, which is indicated by the fact that in the past 8 months indirect tax income has increased in the gross amount of BAM 180 million.
In the recent months we have also opened dozens of new cases, and the cooperation with the countries of the region has been raised to the highest level.
We will continue to fight organized crime and corruption, in order to entrench the rule of law and provide a safe living environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina on our path to the European integration.

Monday, September 1, 2014 – Joint operation in the "Miće" case.
Apprehension of 13 persons suspected of war crimes in Doboj and Teslić. Category 2 case.
Approximately 40 killed and hundreds of displaced, illegally incarcerated, tortured and abused victims.
The Court of BiH remanded all suspects in custody.
Tuesday, September 2, 2014. - Operation "Joker"
14 suspects deprived of liberty for smuggling of excise goods, mostly cigarettes. Two (2) tons of tobacco seized. Remand in custody requested for 4 persons suspected of the criminal offense of Organized Crime and criminal offense of Smuggling.
Wednesday, September 3, 2014 - Operation "Damascus"
16 persons suspected of criminal offenses related with terrorism. Members of the radical Islamic groups. Five suspects remanded in custody.
Thursday, September 4, 2014.
Persons suspected of genocide and war crimes deprived of liberty.
Suspect Đojić Jozo, who is under investigation for war crimes committed in Odžak, arrested
Two suspects - Miodrag Josipović and Branimir Tešić, who are under investigation for aiding and abetting genocide committed in Srebrenica in 1995, arrested in Bratunac.
Sunday, September 7, 2014 - Operation "Global"
Eight persons suspected of organized crime and international smuggling of Cocaine and Heroin deprived of liberty. Actions carried out in Sarajevo and Banja Luka. The Prosecutor coordinated the entire operation out in the field. International cooperation achieved with several countries.
Monday, September 8, 2014 - Operation "Kavala"
Ten (10) persons suspected of organized crime, theft of expensive motor vehicles, forgery of documents and further resale deprived of liberty. The suspects include persons with multiple criminal records and prior convictions. The suspects come from both entities.
Wednesday, September 10, 2014 – Operation "Meat"
Pursuant to the order of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, 11 persons were arrested and 17 locations searched. It was one of the largest operations in post-Dayton Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fight against organized crime and tax evasions amounting to more than 11 million BAM.
