PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH WILL BE INVOLVED IN THE INVESTIGATION OF THE BURNING OF THE STATE FLAG THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE IN SEVERAL BIH TOWNS.

Following the reports of police authorities on the burning of the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina in several towns in the country, the Chief Prosecutor decided that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will be involved in the investigation of these events as there are elements of the criminal offense of provoking and incitement to ethnic hatred and intolerance within them.

Police authorities will be ordered to apprehend the perpetrators and as soon as all the evidence concerning these events are collected the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH shall make a decision on how to proceed.

In the coming period the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH shall, together with police agencies, undertake intensive activities to detect and prevent such occurrences and to ensure strict punishment for the perpetrators.
